AEW World Champion MJF has never been shy about speaking his mind, and this week the outspoken star took aim at WWE while promoting an upcoming AEW event.
While discussing AEW’s March 4 episode of Dynamite in El Paso, Texas, MJF criticised the cost of attending WWE shows and contrasted them with what he described as more affordable ticket options for AEW fans.
He appeared in an interview with ABC-7 sports director Adrian Ochoa on KVIA ahead of the event. During the conversation, the AEW World Champion teased that fans attending the show could even see him compete.
“You pay me the big bucks, I’m coming,” MJF said. “There is a possibility I might be wrestling on that show, who’s to say? You never know. There might be a title defence in El Paso.”
The champion then shifted his focus to ticket prices, using the moment to take a jab at WWE’s current pricing structure.
“Unlike WWE, you don’t have to sell the soul of your firstborn to buy a ticket,” MJF said. “There are normal prices. You go to AEWtix.com or Ticketmaster.com. We don’t discriminate against poors, the same way the world champ does. I hate you people. Look, but somebody’s gotta pay daddy’s bills and that’s gonna be people like you, okay?”
The comments come at a time when ticket pricing has become a talking point among wrestling fans, particularly surrounding WWE’s biggest annual event.
Recent reports have suggested that ticket sales for WrestleMania 42, scheduled to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, may have slowed, in part due to high ticket prices. While those reports have not been officially confirmed by WWE, Allegiant Stadium has since advertised discounted ticket options for the event.
The situation has fuelled ongoing debate online about the rising cost of attending major wrestling shows, with fans frequently comparing pricing structures across promotions.
MJF’s Big Pay-Per-View AEW Title Defence At Revolution
Meanwhile, MJF has his own high-stakes showdown approaching in AEW.
The reigning champion is currently scheduled to defend the AEW World Championship against “Hangman” Adam Page at AEW Revolution on March 15, 2026. The pay-per-view bout will mark one of the most anticipated matches on the card, with Page looking to reclaim the promotion’s top prize.
It has since been confirmed that MJF will defend his AEW World Title tonight as he is set to face JetSpeed’s Kevin Knight.
