A rare cross-promotional moment has seen one of AEW’s top stars, MJF, openly praise a WWE counterpart following a recent encounter.
Speaking on Julian Edelman’s Games With Names podcast, MJF reflected on meeting Seth Rollins during a Radio Row appearance tied to Super Bowl LX week, offering a strong endorsement of the WWE star.
“In my industry, all the top guys, one of them, which you met, Seth Rollins, f***ing incredible professional wrestler,” MJF said. “Incredible. He’s also a great football analyst. The guy’s the man. He’s killing it.”
The comments stand out given the competitive landscape between AEW and WWE, where public praise between talents from rival companies is relatively uncommon. Typically, the current AEW World Champion has been outspoken in his criticisms of the WWE product in recent months, with him stating that their TV and pay-per-view products are not on the same level as AEW’s.
MJF also recently criticised WWE’s high ticket pricing structure, stating that with AEW ticket prices, you don’t “have to sell the soul of your firstborn to buy a ticket.” Many fans and industry insiders have spoken critically of WWE’s ticket prices as of late, with WrestleMania 42 ticket prices having increased by roughly 30% compared to WrestleMania 41.
Seth Rollins & MJF’s Current Happenings In The World Of Pro Wrestling
Seth Rollins has recently been medically cleared after time away from in-ring action and is now set to face Gunther at WrestleMania 42. Meanwhile, MJF continues his run as AEW World Champion and is scheduled to defend the title against Kenny Omega at the Dynasty event on April 12.
