MJF believes Bryan Danielson may not be finished with wrestling, despite ongoing injury concerns that have placed his future in doubt.
Speaking on Games With Names, the AEW World Champion offered high praise for his former rival, describing Bryan Danielson as one of the greatest in-ring performers of all time.
“Bryan Danielson is considered the greatest bell-to-bell professional wrestler of all time by a lot of people,” MJF said. “He is one of the greatest technical… in-ring technicians of all time. He is a freak athlete. He’s tough as nails.”
MJF went on to compare Danielson’s legacy to that of Tom Brady, placing him firmly in “GOAT” territory, while suggesting his competitive nature could lead to another return.
“He’s like soft retired right now… I don’t know if he’ll ever come out of retirement. He’s a sicko, so he probably will because he can never get enough.”
Despite the praise, MJF noted there was still competitive tension between them, referencing their past clash and his desire to prove he could match Danielson over an extended period.
When Did Bryan Danielson Last Wrestle In AEW?
Bryan Danielson last competed regularly in AEW during 2024, with his final televised match coming against Jon Moxley at WrestleDream on October 12. He later made a brief in-ring appearance in a dark match on the June 26, 2025, episode of AEW Collision, which was taped on June 25, but has since acknowledged that a full return may not be realistic due to the severity of his injuries.
