Mike Santana took aim at his former stomping grounds on TNA television last night.
During a contract signing between himself and TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian on Impact last night, Santana took a shot at AEW without actually naming AEW.
“At one point in time we were both at the same place and we were miserable as all hell. We were at a place that tried to drain the passion out of what we love the most. What did we do? We held each other up. We left that place. We bet on ourselves and today we’re sitting across from each other about to go toe-to-toe for the grandest prize in pro wrestling on the biggest show in TNA history!” he said in response to Kazarian’s promo about him willing to do anything to hold onto the belt.
“We did,” said Kazarian nodding his head in agreement.
Kazarian and Santana will be batting for the TNA World Championship on next week’s AMC debut.
Santana was part of the Proud and Powerful tag team in AEW from 2019 to 2024 with his partner Ortiz. Although they had a memorable run there they never won the AEW Tag Team Championships.
Santana and Ortiz’s real-life feud became an on-air angle in which Santana beat Ortiz on Rampage and requested his release from the company.
