Mick Foley will not be appearing at AEW Forbidden Door due to a scheduling conflict.
According to Dave Meltzer in a Wrestling Observer Daily Update, the WWE Hall of Famer has a prior contractual commitment to perform at a comedy show in Seabrook, New Hampshire, on the same day as the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view. Mick Foley reportedly attempted to have the booking moved but was unable to do so.
The absence means Foley, who recently signed with AEW, will not be part of the company’s upcoming event in San Jose.
While Forbidden Door is off the table, the outlook beyond that appears much clearer. Meltzer reported that Foley has cleared the remainder of his schedule after the pay-per-view weekend, leaving him available for AEW appearances throughout the summer and later in the year.
That availability could allow Foley to appear on Dynamite and future pay-per-views as needed through September, as well as during November and December.
Mick Foley Said 2026 Is The Busiest Year Of His Wrestling Career
Dave Meltzer also noted that Mick Foley recently described 2026 as the busiest year of his professional wrestling career. The wrestling legend reportedly said he has spent more time on the road this year than at any other point in his career and had already committed to much of his schedule before agreeing to join AEW.
Although fans will not see Foley at Forbidden Door, his absence is expected to be a one-off issue rather than a sign of limited involvement with the company going forward.
