UFC star Michael Chandler could be testing the waters with WWE.
Various reports indicate that Chandler was spotted at the WWE Performance Center this week. Although not much is known about Chandler’s visit he wasn’t there to train and hasn’t been signed to any kind of deal with the WWE.
Speaking to The Schmo last year, Chandler said about possibly joining WWE:
“I was talking to Triple H about my WWE contract so we’re trying to make that happen. He knows I’m a fan of the WWE, of him, of the brand. He is obviously a fan of what I bring to this table for entertainment, what I can do on the microphone, so it’s always a fun conversation. Who knows if anything is ever gonna happen but he knows I want that door to be open, and I think he wants that door to be open too.
He then said a match with Rey Mysterio would be “freaking fun”.
“I know he’s still getting after it, still has it but that would be a really, really fun one. It might be a little too acrobatic for me. I don’t wanna start with the acrobats right away. Give me a little bit of training and I’ll be doing double backflips off and landing on people,” he said.
Chandler is no stranger to WWE TV. He appeared in the audience as a guest at SummerSlam and on Raw back in 2024, Chandler appeared and called out Conor McGregor.
“Hey, you are now in the presence of the most entertaining UFC fighter on the planet. Hey, now there’s a man from Ireland who has been making me wait for way too long. And I’ve still got one dude on my mind — Conor McGregor get your candy ass back to the Octagon, we’ve got some unfinished business, boys. God bless, I’ll see you at the top!” he said.
Chandler, however, did come to McGregor’s defense when he faced criticism over his less than triumphant return.
“I would be absolutely surprised, like the most surprised person on the planet, if Conor just showed up for a paycheck, limped in there, and said, ‘I don’t care. I’m going to give you guys one minute, shave my head into a mohawk, show up, do the intros, and then just bow out one minute later,’” he wrote.
