Matt Hardy has hinted at a title challenge for WrestleMania 42.
It has been over a decade since The Hardy Boyz competed at WrestleMania. The pair were last seen on the Grandest Stage of Them All when they were the surprise entrants in a Fatal Four-Way Ladder Match at WrestleMania 33.
That match saw the pair defeat Big Cass & Enzo Amore, Cesaro & Sheamus, and Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows to be crowned the Raw Tag Team Champions for the first time. Now, Matt Hardy wants to return to the Showcase of the Immortals and repeat the feat.
On the March 30th edition of Raw, The Vision’s Logan Paul and Austin Theory challenged The Usos for the Raw Tag Titles in a Street Fight. iShowSpeed helped Paul and Theory win the match when he accidentally hit LA Knight with brass knuckles, and then left the weapon on the apron as he retreated. While The Usos stopped Paul’s first attempt to use them, he was later able to knock Jimmy out with the knuckles, allowing Theory to get the pinfall victory.
Matt Hardy gave his reaction to the result on social media, calling it a “travesty” and suggesting the crowd would go wild if he and Jeff were the ones to challenge The Vision for the gold at WrestleMania 42.

When Did Jeff & Matt Hardy Last Compete In WWE?
While they have not been signed with the company since 2020, The Hardy Boyz made several appearances on WWE TV in 2025 as part of the promotion’s partnership with their current home of TNA.
The pair captured the NXT Tag Team Titles from DarkState’s Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin on the Showdown special in October, before losing them back to the same team at Halloween Havoc only weeks later in a Broken Rules Match.
