Matt Hardy has shed light on a small detail from his WWE career after a fan spotted an unusual change to his ring gear while rewatching an old episode of WWE SmackDown.
The fan took to social media after noticing lettering on the back of Matt Hardy’s tights during the April 24, 2009, episode of the blue brand, pointing out that the design had not been present on previous appearances.
“Yes, this is unimportant, but I’m watching old episodes of SmackDown for references, and I can’t help but notice this sticker-looking lettering in the back of Matt Hardy’s tights on the 4/24/2009 episode,” the fan wrote. “So jarring to me ’cause it wasn’t there before and it looked way better lol.”
Hardy responded to the post and revealed that the lettering was added to cover up damage to his gear that occurred at a live event the previous night.
“It was there to cover up a massive tear/rip in my tights that occurred the night before on a live event,” Hardy explained. “Had a new black pair made the following week (as well as the purple & blue ones) to replace the damaged one.”
Matt Hardy’s & Jeff Hardy’s Current TNA Wrestling Run
Matt Hardy is currently competing in TNA Wrestling alongside his brother Jeff Hardy.
The Hardy Boyz were recently in action on the June 18 episode of TNA iMPACT!, teaming with Moose against The System. However, interference from The Righteous and Alisha Edwards proved costly, allowing Eddie Edwards to score the winning fall for his team.
