Mark Henry has revealed that Oba Femi is the one current WWE star who makes him wish he was young and healthy enough to come out of retirement.
The WWE Hall of Famer’s in-ring career came to an end in 2017, although he later made an appearance in the 2018 Royal Rumble. Mark Henry has not pursued another full-time run or singles comeback since then.
Henry later joined AEW in 2021, working as a commentator and coach before leaving the company in 2024. He returned to WWE in 2025, where Femi’s rise has caught the former World Heavyweight Champion’s attention.
Speaking with Sportskeeda, Henry made it clear that he has no plans to return to the ring. However, the 55-year-old admitted that facing Femi would have appealed to him under different circumstances.
“If I was at 100% healthy, maybe 10 years younger, hell I would have loved to come out of retirement and fight Oba Femi. He’s the only one that’s kinda made me feel like ‘Oh man, that would be a challenge.’”
Mark Henry Rules Out WWE In-Ring Return
Despite his interest in a hypothetical match with Oba Femi, Mark Henry stressed that his wrestling career remains over.
The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he previously considered returning to face Nick Aldis when Aldis was NWA World Champion in 2019. However, Henry ultimately decided against the match.
“No, not at all. I thought about wrestling Nick Aldis when he was NWA Champion in 2019. But I decided on not doing it. I retired–I retired. I feel like I had done everything there was to do.”
Henry explained that injuries to his back and legs were among the reasons he decided to step away from competing.
“I got old and the last thing, I was already hurt. I had problems with my back, and my legs, and I just wanted to get away from being in the ring,” he said.
While Henry remains committed to retirement, Femi has seemingly come closer than anyone else to making the WWE legend consider what another match could have looked like.
