A major World Heavyweight Championship match is set for WWE Money in the Bank after Monday Night Raw.
Roman Reigns appears to have found his next World Heavyweight Championship challenger just moments after successfully defending the title against Penta. Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Championship against Penta in the main event of Monday Night Raw in Mexico City.
However, his night did not end when the show went off the air. LA Knight confronted his long-time rival during a post-show segment and attacked Reigns while the World Heavyweight Champion was addressing the crowd.
Knight then took possession of the championship and posed with it before Reigns eventually made his way backstage. Footage later released on social media showed Reigns limping toward the gorilla position while Knight stayed around the ring with his entrance music playing.
Roman Reigns Wants LA Knight At WWE Money In The Bank
Roman Reigns responded to the attack in additional footage released following Raw and made it clear that he was willing to put his championship on the line against LA Knight. The World Heavyweight Champion looked directly into the camera and challenged Knight to face him at WWE Money in the Bank in New Orleans.
“This is what I’m talking about. I am sick and tired of it. All these beggars,” Reigns said. “You want it? If he wants it, he can get it. Money in the Bank, New Orleans. Down south, I’m gonna whoop his bitcha**.”
The challenge comes after Reigns successfully overcame Penta in a competitive championship match. Penta survived a Superman Punch and spear before hitting Reigns with a springboard Mexican Destroyer for a near fall. However, Reigns eventually connected with another spear to secure the victory and retain his championship.
Knight then made his intentions clear after the broadcast by targeting Reigns and posing with the World Heavyweight Championship. WWE Money in the Bank is scheduled for October 10, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
