A major update has emerged regarding Bryan Danielson’s AEW future following his surprise return to the ring.
Despite competing during the recent PAC tribute edition of AEW Dynamite, Bryan Danielson is reportedly not being factored into the company’s on-screen plans moving forward. According to Fightful Select, AEW does not currently have Danielson included in its television plans, while the outlet has not heard of any further involvement for the former AEW World Champion following his return.
Danielson’s appearance marked his first televised match since stepping away from full-time competition in 2024.
Bryan Danielson Made Surprise AEW Return
Bryan Danielson reunited with the Death Riders for the main event of the PAC tribute episode, joining Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia against members of the Don Callis Family.
The match followed Danielson and Moxley’s reconciliation earlier in the show, bringing some closure to their lengthy and often violent rivalry. Moxley defeated Danielson at WrestleDream in October 2024, ending Danielson’s reign as AEW World Champion and bringing his career as a full-time wrestler to an end.
Danielson did not disappear completely from AEW after the match. The former world champion remained involved with the promotion through commentary appearances and also returned to the ring for an untelevised match against Max Caster in 2025. However, the PAC tribute edition of Dynamite marked Danielson’s first match on AEW television since WrestleDream 2024.
His unexpected return raised the possibility that Danielson could become more involved with AEW programming again. However, the latest report indicates that there are currently no plans for the 45-year-old to resume an on-screen role following the one-off appearance.
