TNA Wrestling is set to debut on the AMC Network this week, but the launch has already been hit by the departure of several key names.
PWInsider reports that all four members of The Rascalz, Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel, Myron Reed, and Dezmond Xavier, are no longer under contract and are free to negotiate elsewhere. Wentz and Miguel reportedly saw their deals expire at the end of 2025, with TNA opting not to pick up contract extensions. Reed has fuelled the exit talk by updating his social media bio to list himself as a free agent, while Xavier is believed to have never signed a formal agreement after rejoining the faction late last year.
The exits have had an immediate impact on creative plans for Thursday Night Impact on January 15. Reed had originally been advertised to challenge Leon Slater for the X Division Championship; however, the match has now been removed from promotional material and is understood to be off the card.
Despite losing The Rascalz, TNA has secured fresh talent ahead of its relaunch. Cedric Alexander has signed a new multi-year deal, and The Home Town Man, the masked identity of Cody Deaner, has also reportedly agreed to new terms.
Thursday’s debut on AMC will be headlined by Frankie Kazarian defending the TNA World Championship against Mike Santana with Bully Ray on commentary. AJ Styles is also scheduled to make an appearance as TNA enters its new television era.
How Long Had The Rascalz Been With TNA?
The Rascalz first joined TNA Wrestling in 2018, debuting on the November 29 episode of Impact, where Xavier and Wentz, with Miguel in their corner, defeated Chris Bey and Mike Sydal. The team remained with the company until 2020, when Xavier and Wentz signed with WWE and remained with them until they were released in 2022.
Wentz returned to TNA in 2023, on the June 29 episode of Impact and reformed The Rascalz, and they would remain with the company as one of the top teams in the tag division until their recent departure.
