WWE star Ludwig Kaiser‘s ongoing legal case has taken another turn, with his defence team granted access to additional evidence related to a battery charge stemming from an alleged altercation earlier this year.
Ludwig Kaiser, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, is facing a misdemeanour battery charge following an incident involving Richard Reap at an apartment complex in Orlando, Florida, in April. According to a court filing dated October 26, details courtesy of f4wonline.com, Kaiser’s legal representatives will receive redacted medical records believed to belong to Reap.
Ludwig Kaiser Defence Receives Additional Evidence
The latest filing, titled a Notice of Supplemental Discovery, confirms that the State of Florida is providing additional evidence to Ludwig Kaiser’s defence. The document, submitted by Assistant State Attorney Juanda Padgett, states:
“Please provide a blank DVD for copy of Redacted Medical Records. Upon receipt a copy will be made and sent to your office via US mail.”
The development follows a setback for Kaiser’s defence last week when a judge denied a motion to dismiss the case under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. The case is now scheduled for a pre-trial conference on December 17, with a potential trial window between January 4 and January 22, 2027, should the matter remain unresolved.
Kaiser’s legal team has previously been granted access to additional evidence, including surveillance footage and photographs documenting injuries Reap allegedly sustained during the incident.
The photographs reportedly include two images showing a head injury and another showing an injury to Reap’s right side. Reap has also obtained legal representation, although it remains unclear whether he intends to pursue a separate civil lawsuit.
The charge stems from a confrontation between Ludwig Kaiser and Richard Reap, who lived in the same Orlando apartment complex at the time. According to Reap’s account, the incident began after he asked Kaiser and his girlfriend, Andrea Bazarte, to “please have some manners” while the couple was kissing inside an elevator.
Reap alleges that Kaiser subsequently attacked him. Kaiser has acknowledged pushing Reap but maintains that he acted in self-defence after Reap approached him in an aggressive and threatening manner.
The WWE star has also alleged that Reap made a racist remark involving a threat to contact US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) about Bazarte. The competing accounts remain central to the ongoing legal proceedings, with the battery charge yet to be resolved.
Despite the ongoing case, Kaiser has remained active in WWE and AAA, with no reported internal disciplinary action. The German wrestler currently performs as El Grande Americano and holds the AAA Mega Championship.
He successfully defended the title against former champion Dominik Mysterio at AAA Heroes Inmortales over the weekend. With the next court hearing scheduled for December, Kaiser is expected to continue his wrestling commitments while the legal process moves forward.
No verdict has been reached, and the allegations against Ludwig Kaiser remain before the court.
