Despite being behind the first brand to advertise on WWE mats, Logan Paul has made a surprising criticism of the logos.
In March 2024, WWE announced it was partnering with Logan Paul’s PRIME Hydration. The sponsorship deal saw the PRIME logo become the first to be featured in the centre of a WWE ring mat.
Since then, company logos have become a regular part of WWE rings, with up to nine featuring on the mat on any given show, as well as branded turnbuckle pads, ladders, tables, and more. However, Paul has now admitted that the mat logos are causing problems for the talent in the ring.
On his IMPAULSIVE podcast, the former United States Champion defended LA Knight for slipping off the ropes during the Men’s Elimination Chamber match, explaining that the ropes were oily and slippery from being used all night.
He then turned to the logos, saying that they also get slippery as the show wears on, and he struggles to keep his footing or reach full speed.
“I’m gonna say it: By the end of the night, the middle of that ring gets really slippery with them logos painted in there. I’ll just say it. I noticed.
“I can’t get running full speed. I gotta be really careful with my feet and my placement. Because the logos that they now paint in the middle of the ring — that I started! I started it with PRIME! We were the first in-ring, middle of the ring sponsor ever with the logo… It’s not us anymore! It’s not us anymore!”
Logan Paul Blames Change Of Paint For WWE Logo Problems
According to Logan Paul, the possibility of the branding becoming a problem was discussed before the PRIME logo was first added to the ring, and it was determined that they could avoid issues with the right type of paint. Since the company began using coloured logos, though, the Maverick suspects something has changed.
“And I know this was a thing because before we did that, we were going back and forth with WWE about whether or not it was even possible because the way they paint it, they wanted to actually stress test the mats and have people wrestle and see if it got oily and they determined that the type of paint they used was okay and that it wasn’t gonna be slippery.
“But then they started using color paint as well. I don’t know what they’re using now, but I’m telling you, it’s slippery.”
Logan Paul recently signed a full-time deal with WWE, and is now regularly featured on TV as part of The Vision.
