Logan Paul has admitted he owes CM Punk an apology after experiencing the same injury that sidelined the WWE veteran for months.
Logan Paul suffered a torn triceps during WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 23 while defending the World Tag Team Championship alongside Austin Theory as part of The Vision. Speaking on his Impaulsive podcast, Paul revealed he previously underestimated the severity of the injury when Punk suffered a torn triceps in 2024.
“I’ll be honest, when CM Punk tore his tricep, I just thought he was a major p*ssy,” Paul admitted. “I cut a promo about it. I remember thinking, ‘The dude tore his tricep. How was he out for six months? How bad could it be?’ It’s horrible.”
According to Paul, his injury was significantly worse than he initially realised.
“I tore my tricep off the bone, and a little piece of bone literally came with the tendon,” he said.
Paul explained that the injury occurred in the closing moments of the match, when Angelo Dawkins launched himself over the ropes at him at ringside.
“A nearly 300-pound Dawkins comes flying over the ropes. He lands on me, my arm is flexed, trying to catch him landing on the ground, and there was too much weight, too much tension. I could feel the tendon snap off the elbow.”
The social media star said he immediately knew something was wrong and informed Theory while the match was still ongoing. Despite the injury, Paul finished the match and was even concerned about Bron Breakker raising his arm in celebration afterwards.
“I told Austin, ‘I tore my tricep.’ We’re still working, and he looks at me and says, ‘Are you serious?'”
Logan Paul Admits Feeling Depressed During His Recovery Period
Logan Paul admitted that the recovery process has been mentally difficult. He described himself as feeling “depressed” and “mentally stuck” after seeing the momentum he had built alongside Theory come to an abrupt halt.
Before the injury, Paul believed he and Theory were on the verge of a major run as a tag team and felt he was performing at the highest level of his WWE career. Doctors have reportedly given Paul a recovery timeline of around six months. He has already undergone surgery and is focused on returning to action as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, The Vision will continue to hold the World Tag Team Championship. Rather than vacating the titles, WWE has allowed Bron Breakker to step in as a substitute partner, with all members of the faction eligible to defend the belts while Paul remains sidelined.
