Liv Morgan has spoken about the injury that ended her WWE Women’s Tag Team Title reign.
In June 2025, Liv Morgan suffered a dislocated shoulder during a match with Kairi Sane. At the time, Morgan was one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Raquel Rodriguez, but the injury meant she had to give up the gold as she required surgery.
Morgan’s recovery took five months, and she finally returned to action at Survivor Series: WarGames that November, helping Dominik Mysterio defeat John Cena for the Intercontinental Title.
On the latest episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Morgan recalled the moment the injury happened, saying she “took a weird fall.”
“Yeah, I just took a weird fall, tried to brace myself, which is stupid. As soon as it happened, I knew, just because you can’t feel anything. But first of all, it’s like such an intense pain, then it just goes away, and then you can’t feel anything because your shoulder is just not connected. So yeah, I knew. I rolled out the ring. I tried to pop it back in.”
After the show, Morgan says she tried to stay optimistic, but once she saw the MRI results, reality set in.
“Medical came and tried to pop it back in, and it was kind of just like, I can’t continue, I can’t do anything else. So I had to throw in the towel, which I hated. I think I tried to be really optimistic until my MRI news. I was like, I think I’m okay, but I had done the same thing two years prior. So I knew it wasn’t okay, but I didn’t really want to speak it into existence.”
In January, Liv Morgan won the Women’s Royal Rumble match, setting her on a collision course with Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42. However, that match might be in jeopardy.
Liv Morgan Entered Concussion Protocol Following WWE Raw
On the April 6th episode of Raw, Stephanie Vaquer attacked Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez. The pair knocked heads as they fell, and Morgan was later thrown into a TV during the assault. It has now been reported that both Morgan and Perez are in concussion protocol, leaving the Women’s World Title match uncertain.
