At Warrior Wrestling’s Rumble at Rhinegeist last night, AEW star Lance Archer honoured PAC. Benjamin “PAC” Satterley died yesterday. He was just 40 years old.
Marina Shafir took on Tootie Lynn in the main event. Jon Moxley was there to support her, while Archer battled Beastman, Crash and Lord Crewe in a four-way match.
After winning the match, a visibly upset Archer took to the microphone to speak from his heart.
“You guys are going to give me a second. I need to say something. This is real. We lost a brother… This is very real… PAC has passed away,” he began.
“There’s only one reason that myself and Marina [Shafir], here in a little while, have come out here to perform: because without you guys, this business doesn’t exist. Without you guys cheering for us and having a good time. I don’t mean to chastise the people. Maybe you just didn’t know, but this is very real. No one truly knows what happened. He performed last night on the pay-per-view, and he was found tonight,” he said.
He then spoke about how he sought Moxley’s advice about even continuing the show in light of recent events. Former longtime AEW talent Andy “The Butcher” Williams also passed away a few weeks ago.
“So, there’s only really one reason I even performed tonight. I talked to Jon Moxley… I asked him, I said, ‘Should we do this tonight? Should we perform?’ Because first and foremost, he was checking on us because that’s what kind of man he is. That’s what kind of family the business of professional wrestling is. Because when something like this happens, when a tragedy happens, we check on each other, and he checked on us. Storylines to be damned, feuds be damned. Brother to brother, brother to sister. He checked on us, and I asked him, ‘Do we go out there and perform?’”
“He said, ‘You only get one lifetime. One, that’s it. Go out there and do what you do. Do it to the best of your ability. Entertain the people who came and paid hard money, and you do it in honor and remembrance of our fallen brothers,’” said Archer.
Archer explained how he wrestled in PAC’s honor.
“AEW, unfortunately, has lost its fair share, from Brodie Lee to the Butcher recently, and tonight, PAC. So he said, ‘You go out there and you perform. You put on your boots and you perform. You go out there because that’s what PAC wants you to do. He wants you to go out there and perform. So leave it all alone. Put your boots on. Get in the ring. Kick each other in the face and enjoy life.’
“So right here, right now, me, Marina, every one of the guys, we’re doing this because we all have one life to live. So you go and enjoy and do what you do to the best of your ability. God bless. I love you all,” he finished.
