Kota Ibushi has shared a new update on his recovery after suffering a serious leg injury in 2025.
Posting on Instagram, Kota Ibushi revealed that his broken femur has not yet fully healed, describing the ongoing challenges of his recovery while remaining determined to return.
“My femur isn’t attached yet, but for now, challenge, challenge, challenge,” he wrote, adding that he continues to push forward despite the setback.
When Did Kota Ibushi Suffer His Injury?
Kota Ibushi suffered the injury during a match against Josh Alexander on the October 11, 2025, episode of AEW Collision, which was taped on October 8. Since then, he has regularly documented his rehabilitation process on social media, maintaining a positive outlook throughout.
The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion also reflected on his long career, noting more than two decades in professional wrestling following an earlier background in kickboxing. While his recovery remains ongoing, Ibushi has continued to express confidence that he will eventually return to the ring.
