Kota Ibushi has been released from hospital.
He has successful surgery on his broken femur suffered in a match against Josh Alexander on last week’s edition of Collision.
“I finally made it to my wheelchair. Thanks to the support of the nurses, Nakazawa-san, Kenny-san, President Tony Khan, and many other dedicated people and fans, I was able to transfer from my bed to my wheelchair,” he wrote on Instagram.
Ibushi is unsure of his wrestling future though.
“Of course, it was incredibly painful and excruciating. My legs and body have gotten thinner in such a short time, and I’ve lost 12.4 kg, but this is just the beginning of the post-surgery period. From here on, how I heal is entirely up to me and will determine my future. I will absolutely heal to the best of my ability!” he said.
Ibushi continued to show his appreciation.
“This is the first time I’ve seen and felt a place where the president himself is so dedicated to me, even though he has other work outside of wrestling. Contract extension…I have no words to describe it. Kenny is also a vice president, but he’s doing his best. How can I repay him? The only way to repay pro wrestling is with pro wrestling! I’ll dedicate everything I can to the company and the fans now,” he concluded.
To recover from a broken femur can take upwards of a year of rehabilitation.
