WWE has confirmed that Kevin Owens will make a special appearance at an upcoming NXT live event in his home country of Canada.
The former NXT Champion is scheduled to appear at the October 17 event at the Slush Puppie Centre in Gatineau, Quebec, marking his return to the brand where he enjoyed considerable success earlier in his WWE career.
According to WWE’s official event listing, Kevin Owens will appear alongside several current NXT stars, including Grayson Waller, Tony D’Angelo, Cruz Montana, Zaria and Shiloh Hill. The Vanity Project, consisting of Jackson Drake, Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor, is also advertised for the show.
Kevin Owens Set For NXT Return Nearly Seven Years After Last Appearance
Kevin Owens has a significant history with NXT, having captured the NXT Championship before establishing himself on WWE’s main roster. His most recent in-ring appearance for the brand came at NXT TakeOver: WarGames in November 2019, when he was revealed as the mystery fourth member of Tommaso Ciampa’s team alongside Keith Lee and Donovan Dijak.
Owens’ surprise appearance saw him compete in the WarGames match, and his upcoming appearance in Gatineau will bring him back to an NXT event nearly seven years later. However, WWE has not confirmed whether Owens will wrestle at the October 17 show or appear in a non-wrestling capacity.
Before returning to NXT, Owens is scheduled to appear on the October 9 episode of SmackDown. He will then compete in the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match on October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he will face CM Punk, Penta, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans.
