Kevin Nash revealed why he opposed using a hologram of his late friend and longtime tag team partner, Scott Hall.
The subject came up on an episode of Kliq This during a discussion about Queen guitarist Brian May and the possibility of a digital avatar show featuring Freddie Mercury. Co-host Sean Oliver recalled that a similar concept involving Scott Hall had been pitched before, but Kevin Nash rejected the idea. Nash confirmed he was against it because he knew Hall well enough to believe his friend would have made the same decision if their roles were reversed.
“Of course, because it was Scott,” Nash said. “I spent 30 years of my life with Scott. I know Scott wouldn’t let them do that to me. Scott would have been like, ‘Kev wouldn’t want this.’”
Hall died in March 2022 at the age of 63. Nash added that the proposal came too soon after his friend’s death for him to consider it.
“The Scott thing was so fresh too,” Nash said. “Scott hadn’t been gone very long.”
Kevin Nash Reflects On His Friendship With Scott Hall
Kevin Nash and Scott Hall shared one of wrestling’s most famous friendships, both on and off screen. The pair worked together in WWE during the 1990s as Diesel and Razor Ramon before leaving the company for WCW in 1996. There, they became The Outsiders and helped launch the New World Order alongside Hulk Hogan.
Nash and Hall were also members of The Kliq alongside Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Sean Waltman. Hall became a four-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, and he and Nash captured tag team gold together multiple times in WCW. Hall was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as Razor Ramon in 2014 before receiving a second induction as a member of the nWo in 2020.
More than four years after Hall’s death, Nash said he still keeps a reminder of his friend close while recording his podcast. Nash has a bobblehead featuring himself and Hall on his desk and said he speaks to it before each episode.
“Every time I come down there, I always ask Scott, ‘Scott, you want to do this show?’” Nash said. “And I give him a little, and he gives me the yeah.”
