Kenny Omega is glad that fans don’t have to mortgage their house to afford to see AEW live.
While WWE has been criticised for its often eye-watering ticket prices in recent months, AEW has been seen to keep its events affordable for most budgets. In a recent interview with CBC News Manitoba, Kenny Omega spoke about keeping shows available for everyone.
“We’re sort of like the alternative, we’re not quite WWE and we’re not an indie either, we’re just AEW. What we try to be is the most fun live show that you can watch, available to you.
“I do think that for family-friendly shows — mostly family-friendly — ticket prices are absolutely friendly. We never skimp on the content, you’ll always get a ton of wrestling for your money value. You are getting a whole heck of a lot of AEW and you’re not having to mortgage your first house or sell off your first child.”
The Best Bout Machine made sure to add that he wasn’t knocking other promotions, and explained that he’s proud that anyone can go to an AEW show, whether they’re already diehard fans or just want to see some live wrestling.
“That’s not even a knock on any of the other promotions or anything. If you want to check out a television product and see yourself on TV, and have fun and see what makes AEW so special, you can do it, and you can do it at an affordable price.
“I’m just really glad that if there’s any interest whatsoever, whether it be because you’re a diehard AEW fan or you just want to go out and check out a night of wrestling or something fun with the family or friends, I’m glad that there are price point options available for all walks of life. That’s one thing I’m very proud of with AEW.”
Kenny Omega Set For AEW World Title Match At Dynasty
On the March 25th edition of Dynamite, Kenny Omega earned a shot at MJF’s AEW World Championship when he defeated Swerve Strickland. The bout had added stakes as, if Omega had lost, Strickland would have won his position as an EVP.
The match will be the first time The Cleaner has challenged for the title since March 2023, when he was unsuccessful in taking the gold from the Salt of the Earth on Collision.
