Keith Lee‘s lengthy absence from AEW television appears set to continue despite internal discussions about a potential return.
According to Fightful Select, AEW officials have discussed bringing Keith Lee back in recent months. However, any tentative plans for a comeback have yet to materialise, and there is currently no indication that a return is imminent.
Lee has not appeared on AEW programming since 2023, extending his absence to more than two-and-a-half years. Fightful reported that sources within AEW confirmed his name had been brought up in return discussions, though those plans appear to have stalled.
The report also noted that Lee has not been a regular presence backstage at AEW events. There is reportedly no sign that he has begun the medical clearance process that typically takes place in the weeks leading up to a wrestler’s return.
The situation has generated interest among both fans and wrestlers, with Fightful noting that several performers contacted the outlet after it first teased the story.
