Juice Robinson Reveals Surprising Reason He Changed His Look For 2025 Return

When Juice Robinson returned from injury in 2025, it was with a different look than fans were used to.

In 2024, Juice Robinson was part of the AEW Continental Classic tournament. Unfortunately, during his opening-round match against Will Ospreay, the star suffered a broken fibula and was forced to withdraw.

The injury left Robinson on the shelf for over six months, and he finally returned at All In Texas in July 2025 as part of the Casino Gauntlet match. To the surprise of everyone in attendance, the star had shaved his beard and was wearing all-black in a radical departure from his normal ‘Rock Hard’ look.

Speaking to Tony Schiavone on the latest edition of What Happened When, Robinson revealed that his changed appearance came about after a freak accident involving a lat pulldown cable.

“The real reason is, because my beard was really, really long, I got it caught in a lat pulldown cable, and it ripped like four out. I got angry, just went home from the gym, and then just shaved it all off.

“But then, when I saw it, I was like, ‘Whoa,’ it was a huge change. I knew when I was coming back, I’m like, ‘I’m taking this bitch down to the skin. I’m going to make it look shocking.’ I just wanted it to be a huge, huge change.

“My thought was coming back with all black and being a little more subdued was just to see how I felt and where the wind took me. I knew I would eventually find myself probably back to where I am right about nownow, but I kind of wanted a blank slate.”

Juice Robinson Was Embarrassed By The Gym Mishap

Juice Robinson gave some more details of the accident, explaining that, at the time, his beard was so long that the cable kept going through it, and eventually got caught.

“I’m pulling it down in front of my chest, and at the time my beard was long and it’s going through my beard. I’m coming back off that leg injury so I’m just trying to get a lift in.

“I got it caught in the pulley, where it’s free turning. It ripped like six long-ass hairs out mid-set. I was pissed. I was embarrassed. ‘What am I doing? Get rid of this shit.’”

At AEW All Out, Juice Robinson – once again sporting a full beard – will accompany the Bang Bang Gang as they take on the Death Riders and The Dogs in a Tailgate Brawl.
