Jim Ross is hopeful of returning to the AEW commentary desk in time for a major pay-per-view event later this year despite undergoing brain surgery in August.
Speaking on Grilling JR, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed he has set his sights on travelling to the United Kingdom for AEW All In, although he will miss this weekend’s AEW Redemption pay-per-view in Montreal.
“I hope so. I’d love to do that. I have my sights set on the UK and Wembley. You know, that’s a big event and it’s a good trip. It’s a non-stop flight. I enjoy that opportunity, so that’s kind of where I’m setting my sights. I got that big two-day appearance coming in Minneapolis soon. That’s going to be fun.”
Jim Ross was responding to a question about whether he expects to be back in time for September’s All Out pay-per-view, with the legendary commentator indicating he is aiming to return even earlier.

Before then, Jim Ross is scheduled to appear alongside longtime broadcast partner Jerry “The King” Lawler at WrestleCon in Minneapolis on July 31 and August 1.
Ross’ current AEW contract is due to expire in August, although there has been no public update regarding a new deal. During the podcast, Ross once again praised AEW President Tony Khan for the support he has received throughout his recent health issues. Ross has primarily worked AEW pay-per-view events in recent years.
