Revealing spoilers has always been a dirty tactic in the wrestling industry. The most famous of which was when Eric Bischoff Executive Vice President of WCW would routinely announce the results of Raw during the open of Nitro every week. In those days, WWE used to tape Raw. It wasn’t a live broadcast.
It seems as if that ploy has come into play again once again and strangely enough in conjunction with Eric Bischoff’s surprise appearance on AEW as moderator of the debate between Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy.
On his Saturday Night Special podcast Chris Jericho is pointing the finger at a “NXT reject” for disclosing the surprise on social media.
“When we had the debate and Eric Bischoff was announced on Reddit and we know who the spy is, by the way. Oh, we know. He’ll never f—–g be back in AEW. A NXT reject was a spy, so print that. I was like, listen, we can announce this or we can just not announce it and don’t worry about it and see. The people that know will know and maybe they’ll watch if they weren’t going to,” said Jericho.
The Reddit user who revealed the news was ‘SpaceForce1’.
Former NXT talent who have worked for NXT recently include Tino Sabbatelli (Sabatino Piscitelli) and Cezar Bononi.
