Jeff Hardy’s iconic Willow persona has officially returned to TNA Wrestling television.
After several weeks of teasers on TNA Impact, Willow finally resurfaced during the May 21 episode of TNA Impact in the middle of a match involving Matt Hardy and Vincent. The bout featured a unique stipulation in which Jeff Hardy and Dutch were handcuffed to opposite ring posts while Vincent and the remaining participant competed inside the ring.
Late in the match, Vincent held up the symbolic feather before the arena lights suddenly went dark. When the lights returned, Jeff Hardy had mysteriously disappeared from ringside despite previously being handcuffed. Moments later, Willow emerged and attacked Vincent, helping Matt Hardy secure the victory.
Jeff Hardy’s Willow Character Briefly Appeared Earlier This Year
Although Willow previously appeared briefly in a non-wrestling segment earlier this year, Thursday marked the character’s official televised return to action. The Willow persona has long been associated with Hardy’s darker, more theatrical presentation, with the character previously appearing prominently during his earlier TNA run. Willow’s last in-ring match before this return took place during a 2014 episode of Impact Wrestling.
