Jeff Cobb is back in NJPW.
After a brief stint in the WWE as JC Mateo and part of the MFT, Cobb returned to NJPW at tonight’s G1 Climax final targeting United Empire’s leader, Callum Newman.
Cobb was part of the faction before leaving NJPW last year.
Embarrassed by Nagai during their match, Newman blindsided him after the match. He threws him into a ringside barricade, hit him with Excalibur and puts a sword to his throat back in the ring.
Gedo came into the ring begging Newman to stop.
“Calm down. Calm down, please. Let me tell you, I know you are strong. People know you are strong. What are you doing? You need to fix your attitude. You know what? This man can fix your attitude,” said Gedo.
Out came Jeff Cobb! He gets in Newman’s face and takes him down with a shoulder tackle.
“It ain’t over! You have put the Empire down!” yelled Cobb.
Newman rolled out of the ring.
“Where are you going?” asked Cobb.
Cobb then bumped fists with Gedo meaning he has joined Unbound.
