Jazmyn Nyx didn’t get any love from WWE.
Appearing on the The Ariel Helwani Show, Nyx revealed that one of the main reasons she left WWE was because they wouldn’t allow her to participate in outside projects, like a recent season of Love Island in the USA.
“I wasn’t on TV yet and I thought that that would be a good route if I went and then came back and they kind of shut that down,” she said.
It wasn’t just Love Island that came calling either.
“A couple of shows reached out after that when I was Jazmyn and obviously I turned those down myself because I’m in a different position now, I’m on TV. This is my life, I want to succeed in what I’m doing now,” she said.
Nyx was unceremoniously written off WWE TV a few weeks ago when she was attacked and kicked out of Fatal Influence.
Nyx posted an update on social media saying: “As you know, there’s been things circulating. I kind of want to just set the record straight that I am not re-signing with WWE. This was a personal decision I had to make for myself and for my future. Personally, the contract that they were offering me for the next three years just wasn’t going to cut it for me financially, and that’s okay.”
Nyx was replaced by new-comer Lainey Reid.
Nyx also complained about the pay she was receiving in NXT.
“Cost of living goes up every year and if you don’t get a raise you’re losing money. That’s kind of how I looked at it and I just felt like I had to make the decision for myself. It felt like I was losing money…You pay for hair, makeup, girls are different. There are a lot of expenses, especially being in WWE outfits every single week,” she stated.
