Janel Grant has spoken publicly for the first time since it was confirmed that her lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE will proceed to private arbitration.
In a post shared on Instagram, Janel Grant did not directly address the legal case but admitted she has “been struggling” and thanked supporters for continuing to check in on her.
“It happened to be a perfect storm of everything and all at once. Thank you for checking in with me and for your patience.”
Grant also encouraged people to continue reaching out, saying the messages of support have helped her through a difficult period.
“It’s completely ok” to keep messaging me.
She went on to compare her experience to an episode of Anderson Cooper’s podcast on grief, writing that those conversations have helped her feel “less alone.”
“These profound and meaningful exchanges have helped me feel less alone.”
Grant added that, despite her struggles, she remains determined to move forward.
“I believe that making a difference in the world begins with how we show up in it. I have been outside 5 times this year. But here I am. And I’m still showing up to be part of the solution.”
Janel Grant’s Ongoing Lawsuit Against Vince McMahon & WWE
Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, WWE and former WWE executive John Laurinaitis in January 2024, alleging sexual assault, sex trafficking and abuse. Laurinaitis was later removed from the lawsuit. Following the filing, McMahon resigned as TKO Executive Chairman and has not appeared on WWE programming since.
It was recently confirmed that Grant’s case against McMahon and WWE will move to private arbitration after legal proceedings surrounding a non-disclosure agreement she signed before filing the lawsuit.
