Jake Hager has no interest in returning to AEW.
Hager and AEW went their separate ways in 2024 but not before Hager accused Tony Khan of threatening to fire him just because he supported Donald Trump.
Speaking on the Off the Rails podcast with Jasmine St. Claire, Hager continued to lift the curtain on what it is like to work for AEW.
Although Hager said the locker room vibe was very fun, very cool and accepting, Tony Khan is at the root of all of their problems.
“Organization was lacking. Everything was last minute. There were so many times when it was 6 o’clock and we’re going live at 8 on Wednesday for Dynamite. The show hadn’t even been out yet. It’s not even out at 6 o’clock! Like, what are you doing all week that you don’t have a live TV show written until 6 o’clock? That’s just one thing that I can point my finger to. I mean, that’s just inexcusable,” he said.
Hager claimed it wasn’t always like.
“When we started AEW we knew a month ahead of time. We knew four weeks of storylines ahead of time. Imagine how much better you can make your performance when you know what you’re doing,” said Hager.
Hager said that in his time there he got to know the “real” Tony Khan.
“Once I got to know his true colors…he is not a decent person based on how he treated me and my situation there,” he said.
