Jacy Jayne has joined the ranks of Roxanne Perez, Shayna Baszler and Charlotte. She has become the NXT Women’s Champion for the second time.
Jayne defeated Tatum Paxley in the main event of the first night of NXT’s Gold Rush event.
The match began with Paxley locking Jayne in an arm lock and won’t let go. Jayne has to back her into the ropes. She chops her in the chest.
“I am going to be a two-time champion, Tater!” screams Jayne.
The exchange chops back and forth. Paxley splashes Jayne in one corner. As she lines her up for another Fatal Influence pulls Jayne out of harm’s way. Paxley knocks Jayne off the apron and splashes all of Fatal Influence.
Paxley rolls Jayne back into the ring. Jayne distracts the official so that Fallon Henley grabs onto Paxley’s leg not letting her get back into the ring. Paxley kicks her off. As she tries to springboard back into the ring, Jayne kicks her. Jayne splashes Paxley on the floor.
Jayne takes over stomping Paxley in a corner and suplexing her for a two count. Jayne drives knees into her back before locking on a body scissors. Paxley finally escapes and after throwing a few punches at Jayne, Jayne clotheslines her down to the canvass.
Jayne hurricanranas Paxley out of a corner. Paxley super kicks her. They both go down. It takes them awhile to get back up. They get into a slugfest.
Paxley gives Jayne a spinning neckbreaker off the ropes and a big slam for a two count. Shawn Spears distracts the official. Izzi Dame slides in a steel chair for Tatum. Tatum slides it back out. Jayne rolls her up for a two count. Reid takes a swing at Tatum. Tatum kicks her. When she turns around, Jayne runs across the apron kicking her. Jayne gets a two count.
A frustrated Jayne instructs Reid to get the championship belt. Izzi wipes her out. Henley comes into the ring distracting the official. Izzi slides the title to Tatum. Jayne grabs it after Tatum pushes it away. The official stops Jayne from using it. Tatum rolls Jayne up. Jayne kicks out sending Tatum to the floor.

The show goes off the air with The Culling standing over a defeated Tatum.
When the show opens we’ve got an ocean of yellow rally towels in New York City to welcome Joe Hendry and Thea Hail to the ring.
Ethan Page and Chelsea Green (c) versus Joe Hendry and Thea Hail – AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship
The crowd is divided between Chelsea and Thea. It doesn’t take long for Chelsea to go after the hair and Hail to take her down with a kick. Hail grabs Green’s arms from behind her and makes her “wave her hands side to side”. A pissed off and embarrassed Chelsea tags out.
Hendry flips out of Page’s arm lock flipping him to the mat. Hendry holds up Page for an eternity for a stalling suplex. Hail leaps onto Page putting him in her Kimura Lock. Chelsea has to break things up ramming Hail into a turnbuckle.
Hendry and Hail squirm out of dueling running bulldogs. Hail drop kicks Chelsea into Ethan. She then DDTs Ethan. Ethan and Chelsea call a time out on the floor.
Chelsea holds onto Hendry as he wanders into her corner. Ethan clocks Hendry from behind. Ethan lands haymaker after haymaker backing Hendry into a corner. When the official backs Ethan off, Chelsea chokes Hendry over the bottom rope.
Page keeps Hendry down on the mat transitioning into a front face lock submission. Hendry suplexes his way out. A fallaway slam on Page has Chelsea storming across the ring. Hendry ducks, Hail pulls the top rope down and Chelsea falls onto Page on the floor. Hail leaps off the top rope onto Page.
Things break down on the floor. Hail nails Chelsea with an exploder suplex and a running kick. Ethan break up the attempted pin. A frustrated Hail kicks Ethan in the face and elbows Alba Fyre off the apron. Hail blocks the Unprettiher putting Green into the Kimura Lock. Page shoves Hendry into Hail breaking the hold. Green pins Hail with the Unprettiher.
Winners: …and still AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions, Ethan Page and Chelsea Green.
Lola Vice and Jordynne Grace are watching backstage. They rip on Kelani Jordan for her cheating ways. Jordan interrupts them. Grace tells Jordan this will be her last week with the title. As Jordan leaves, Vice says she has changed and not for the better.
GM Ava hypes the upcoming Deadline event and the Iron Survivor Challenge matches. This year only one person will pick the participants. That person will be in NXT next week and his name is…John Cena.
Sarah Schreiber speaks to Tavion Heights. He explains that he is thankful for all the NQCC taught him. He hopes that John Cena picks him next week. Josh Briggs clocks Heights in the back of the head. They brawl through the audience, up a rampway, through some doors into a foyer. Security has to separate them.
Sol Ruca is getting ready for her big match. Zaria questions whether Ruca should wait until Deadline. Ruca says if she is going to win the belt back she has to do it herself.
Blake Monroe (c) versus Sol Ruca – NXT Women’s North American Championship Match
As they break in the ropes, Monroe grabs Ruca’s left leg mocking her. Ruca kicks Monroe in the head. Ruca leaps over Monroe and her knee stand up to the roll. Monroe spins Ruca for a sidewalk slam. Ruca returns the favour with a slam, kick to the face.
Monroe focuses on the left knee with various crab holds. Monroe wraps Ruca’s leg, knee around the steel post. Ruca slams Monroe’s head into the post. They both clothesline each other on the floor.
Back in the ring, Monroe rakes Ruca’s eyes on the top rope. Ruca puts Monroe into a surfboard submission. Monroe refuses to submit. Monroe catches Ruca in the ropes giving her a kneebreaker. Monroe stomps on and hyper extends that knee.
Booker T and Vic Joseph wonder if Ruca returned to action too early.

Ruca missile drop kicks Blake Monroe off the top rope but stumbles on her kip up. A running knee strike gets her a two count. Ruca leaps off the corner turnbuckle onto Monroe on the floor. Ruca is limping in agony.
Back in the ring, Monroe tears off the knee brace while Ruca is in a one-legged crap. Monroe throws the brace up the aisleway. Monroe backs away from a super kick. Ruca falls to the mat gripping her knee. Monroe locks on another submission.
On the floor, Zaria goes mental. She demands the bell be rung. She grabs a towel. Ruca demands that she doesn’t throw that towel in. Zaria does and the match is called.
Winner: …and still NXT Women’s North American Champion, Blake Monroe.
Zaria jumps into the ring to comfort Ruca.
Fatal Influence is backstage. Jacy Jayne says Gold Rush is THEIR event. Fatal Influence is going to leave Gold Rush with all of the gold.
NXT Men’s Champion Ricky Saints comes down to the ring. Oba Femi is next out. Saints welcomes Oba back. He reminds him that he beat him for the belt at No Mercy. Saints says that Oba doesn’t know how to handle losing. Femi says Saints hasn’t changed. It is the same bravado. Femi had no interested in getting involved in TNA versus NXT and no interest in watching Saints and Trick Williams battle over who is the best dressed. All of that stuff is beneath The Ruler. He says the sun is setting on the Absolute Era.
Trick Williams is out next. He says things between him and Saints aren’t over until he win the title back. All of a sudden, Myles Borne attacks Williams from behind with a steel chair, like he did to him awhile ago. He says Williams lost and is done. He proclaims himself the winner of the Iron Survivor match. Femi and Saints will face each other again at Deadline.
GM Ava gives Borne crap over what he just did. Borne feels like there is some kind of double standard going on. Ava get a call on her phone. She books Borne versus Williams next week.
Ava freaks out on the phone saying…”They are doing WHAT?!?!
Briggs and Heights are STILL fighting backstage. Briggs hits Heights with a chair to the stomach and then choeslams him through a table.
DarkState (c) vs. Leon Slater and Je’Von Evans – NXT Tag Team Championship Match
DarkState is in control most of the match. They dump Evans off the top rope and knock Slate off the apron. Evans manages to fight them both off. He hot tags Slater. Slater takes out DarkState in the ring and on the floor. Slater does his dive over the top rope onto DarkState. J’Von hits a cutter landing a Frog Splash for a two count. J’Von is pushed off the top rope. Slater gets double chokeslammed. J’Von leaps off the top rope to break up the pin. He ends up landing on Slater instead. Doomsday Device for the pin.
Winners: …and still NXT Tag Team Champions, DarkState.
Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey and Wren SInclair chat about Grey’s run-in with Lainey Reid. They don’t get why Charles was involved in sneaking attacking TNA last week. Wren says Charles is ghosting her.
Shiloh Hill, the winner of WWE’s LFG season two is typing away on a computer. He wants to download – shouldn’t that be upload? – some information on himself before he joins NXT. He talks about being a kid, the “fog coming in” and them having to move from place to place. He calls school “boring” and details how he and his sister skipped out. Didn’t anyone call their parents? He invites us to check back in for more next week. Oookay. What an odd story.
Backstage, Ruca and Zaria are butting heads. Ruca claims she had the match won. Zaria says she had to throw in the towel because Ruca wasn’t going to tap out. Zaria blames Ruca’s “stupid pride” for what happened tonight. Zaria thinks they should move past things and focus on her winning the Speed Championship next week. “Whatever,” mumbles Ruca throwing the towel at Zaria.
