The finish of the AEW Women’s Title match was changed after Penelope Ford suffered an injury.
On the February 25th episode of AEW Dynamite, the Babes of Wrath – Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron – put the Women’s Tag Team Championship on the line against Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne.
During the match, Ford climbed the ringpost and went for a Moonsault to the outside, but landed awkwardly between Nighingale and Cameron. After the move, the star made her way back to her corner, but could be seen favouring her foot and speaking to referee Audrey Edwards. Ford was checked on and quickly ruled out of the match.
According to Fightful Select, the injury led to an audible being called from the back, with Lena Kross running in and causing a disqualification. This was seemingly to prevent the heel Bayne from acting as an underdog in the match. The original plans for the finish of the bout are currently unknown.
Penelope Ford Appears With Crutch In AEW Promo After Dynamite
Despite her injury, Penelope Ford took part in a post-match promo with the rest of MegaBad while leaning on a crutch. During the promo, Ford admitted that the Babes of Wrath had “taken a piece” of them, but warned them it would be the last thing they ever do.
Kross then introduced herself as ‘Colossal’ Lena Kross and gave her own warning to Nightingale and Cameron.
“I am ‘Colossal’ Lena Kross. Genetically, aesthetically, prophetically. It’s over.”
"Destiny has no time limit. You've simply delayed the inevitable."

The injury comes only weeks after Penelope Ford returned to AEW after three months out with a torn UCL in her elbow, an injury that had forced her out of the inaugural Women’s Tag Team Title tournament.
