An injured AEW star made their in-ring return after three months away.
Penelope Ford made her return to AEW on Wednesday night following a three-month injury layoff. Ford teamed with Megan Bayne at the post DynamiteCollision taping and defeated Danielle Kamela and Viva Van in her first match back. The episode will air on Saturday.
Ford had been sidelined since October with a UCL tear that forced her out of the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team title tournament, where she was replaced by Marina Shafir. Her previous match before returning also saw her team with Bayne on the October 22 Dynamite, where they were unsuccessful in coming out on top against the teams consisting of Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata, Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale, and Julia Hart and Skye Blue.
How Long Has Penelope Ford Been With AEW?
Penelope Ford has been with AEW since the company’s early days in January 2019, signing alongside Joey Janela and accompanying him to the ring at the inaugural Double or Nothing pay-per-view. Ford then wrestled her debut match at All Out, participating in the Casino Battle Royal.
Ford would go on to manage her real-life boyfriend, who would later become her husband, Kip Sabian, in mid-2019, and she would continue to wrestle in the women’s division until undisclosed health issues in 2022 forced her to stay out of the ring for two years.
Ford returned to action in October 2024 and would wrestle regularly until her recent UCL tear in October 2025.
