An update has been provided on an injured AEW star.
Hologram’s return to AEW appears to be further away than initially expected. During AEW Worlds End Zero Hour, it was announced that El Clon will make his in-ring debut at AEW Collision in January. However, that appearance will not involve Hologram, as the masked star remains sidelined with no immediate return timetable.
According to the Wrestling Observer‘s Bryan Alvarez, Hologram is “still a long way away” from being cleared to compete. The update comes months after Hologram was written off television following a backstage attack by Kyle Fletcher, an angle that ultimately led to the reveal of Clon as his masked stand-in.
Hologram had been positioned for a major program earlier this year, with vignettes airing throughout the summer ahead of an expected showdown with Fletcher. That plan was scrapped after Hologram suffered an injury, forcing AEW to pivot creatively. Fletcher went on to retain the TNT Championship after being attacked by a masked figure wearing Hologram’s gear, later revealed to be Clon, who subsequently aligned himself with the Don Callis Family.
Since then, Clon has appeared regularly alongside the group but has yet to compete in a match, while Hologram continues his recovery away from television.
As of now, there is no timetable for Hologram’s return, and Tony Khan has not provided further details regarding his condition.
When Did Hologram Debut With AEW?
Hologram signed with AEW in February 2024 and made his debut on the July 20 episode of Collision later that year, defeating Gringo Loco before beginning his feud with La Faccion Ingobernable.
He suffered a legitimate ankle injury and was written off TV on October 19, 2024, and made his return to the ring on February 8, 2025, until he suffered a knee injury in September, forcing him to be written off TV again.
