A WWE Hall of Famer has spoken about why they believe Bryan Danielson will return to the WWE.
Bully Ray believes Bryan Danielson will eventually return to WWE to finish his career. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Ray said he expects Danielson’s current run in AEW to lead to a final chapter back in WWE, particularly alongside his wife, Brie Bella.
“How long do you think it is before Danielson comes back to WWE?” Ray asked. “He’s definitely coming back to finish out his career with his wife in the WWE.”
Brie Bella recently returned to WWE during the Royal Rumble, reuniting with her sister Nikki Bella. Some fans had speculated that Danielson’s ties to AEW could complicate a return for Brie, but her appearance has fuelled talk about Danielson’s future as well.
Danielson has been with AEW since 2021. He stepped away from full-time in-ring competition in 2024 due to ongoing neck issues and currently works as a commentator. While his future remains uncertain, Ray believes Danielson will ultimately return to WWE for the final stretch of his career.
When Was Bryan Danielson Last In WWE?
Bryan Danielson was last signed to WWE in 2021, when his contract expired in May despite WWE pushing hard for him to sign a new deal with them. Danielson returned to the ring for WWE in 2018 after he retired in February 2016 due to suffering from concussion-related injuries.
During his comeback, he captured the WWE Title and the SmackDown Tag Team Title before he left in 2021 and joined AEW, where he wrestled for the company until he retired after losing the AEW World Title to Jon Moxley at WrestleDream 2024. However, Danielson did compete in a dark match on Collision on June 25, 2025, defeating Max Caster in just eight seconds, leaving the door open for another run for the American Dragon.
