Jeff Jarrett believes WWE already has a detailed backup plan for WrestleMania 43 amid continued uncertainty about the event’s date.
WWE announced last year that WrestleMania 43 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, moving its biggest annual event outside North America. Despite the announcement being made a year ago, WWE has yet to reveal when WrestleMania 43 will take place. Nick Khan recently said the creative plans for the event are already complete.
On My World, Conrad Thompson asked Jarrett why the company still hadn’t announced a date. Jarrett declined to entertain conspiracy theories, although he acknowledged that instability in the region was one possible consideration. When asked whether WWE would have a contingency plan should circumstances prevent WrestleMania from taking place in Saudi Arabia, Jarrett was confident one would exist.
“I think they had a backup plan. Maybe not dotted the i’s and crossed the t’s, but I think they had it when they agreed to the deal,” Jarrett said.

Jeff Jarrett explained that WrestleMania is too important to WWE’s overall business for the company not to have prepared for potential complications.
“It’s not a Clash of Champions. It’s not even a Rumble. When you’re out selling sponsors, the entire DNA of World Wrestling Entertainment,” Jarrett said. “When you create any kind of data, the analytics, the finance, marketing. When you’re talking to a talent, when you’re writing creatively, WrestleMania is the north star of the organisation. Period. And has been since the mid-80s.”
Jarrett said WrestleMania also plays a central role when WWE negotiates television, sponsorship and other major commercial agreements.
“When you create these fancy decks to go out, whether it’s a TV deal or a Fanatics deal, or you go to the analysts or go to data research, wherever you’re at in that wheel of WWE, your north star is WrestleMania,” he said. “And when you agree to go and remove this from North America, you inherently take the risk. So I’m positive they’ve got a backup plan at this point in super granular detail.”
However, Jarrett does not believe WWE would have an entirely separate creative direction prepared for a potential change of location, noting that too much can change before the event takes place.
