Gunther is vowing to end the 28-year career of AJ Styles at tomorrow’s Royal Rumble broadcast.
Gunther was interviewed by Michael Cole as part of the Royal Rumble Kickoff show but before Cole could ask any questions Gunther had a question for him.
“Where has the ‘Phenomenal’ AJ Style been all day?” Gunther asked.
He then answered his own question.
“I can tell you. He is sitting back there somewhere regretting the decision to put his career on the line against the greatest professional wrestler in WWE today,” Gunther snickered.
The crowd began cheering AJ Styles’ name.
“You can keep going on! He is not here right now. This interview is about me! The one who will end the career of AJ Styles tomorrow!” shouted Gunther over the fans in attendance.
Cole asked Gunther what would happen to the “Career Killer” moniker if Gunther doesn’t beat Styles tomorrow?
Gunther fired back at Cole asking him does he honestly think Styles can beat him?
“Maybe,” Cole answered.
“You and all those people are equally stupid because tomorrow I am going to walk into the Royal Rumble and end the career of the ‘Phenomenal One’ AJ styles,” said Gunther as he was pelted with more AJ Styles chants before leaving the stage.
The Royal Rumble airs tomorrow at a special start time in North America of 12:00 ET.
The full line-up is:
- Men’s Royal Rumble match
- Women’s Royal Rumble match
- Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Sami Zayn – Undisputed WWE Championship match
- AJ Styles vs. Gunther – Career Threatening match.
