Gunther prefers to leave catchphrases to the other stars of WWE.
Unlike the other top stars in WWE, Gunther does not go out of his way to invent marketable catchphrases that can be printed on t-shirts. During an interview with Rompipallone, he was asked if there was a phrase that would apply to him, but he said he’s “a man without phrases.
The Ring General explained that he prefers to leave that kind of thing to the likes of Cody Rhodes, as he prefers to concentrate on his work in the ring instead.
“A man without phrases, I think. Yeah, I don’t know. There’s a reason why I don’t have any catchphrases or something like that, because I leave that to people like Cody Rhodes.
“They can give themselves all kinds of cool names and cool sounding names that are easy for marketing department to use, to put on t-shirts, but i don’t know, that’s not me, not interested in that part. I’m interested in what happens in the ring and that’s why I’m the number one.”
The Undertaker Loves “Old School Guy” Gunther
Recently, The Undertaker heaped praise on Gunther, saying the former World Heavyweight Champion is an “old school guy.” The Phenom explained that with Gunther, there’s no flash, and he goes into matches to beat his opponent up with no “flying around” or other “silly stuff.” He also believes the star shows that “what is old can be new again.”
