In a shocking win at the G1 Climax tournament yesterday, Callum Newman, the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, pinned the current in Gabe Kidd.
Kidd drop kicked Zane Jay on the floor before even taking off his ring attire. Newman went after him. The bell hadn’t even run yet. Newman whipped Kidd into the ringside barricade. Newman sat Kidd in a third row seat kicking him right in the chest. Newman went for a running drop kick but Kidd moved. Newman went flying into the seats. Kidd threw chairs at Newman. Still no bell.
Kidd put an arm bar on Newman’s injured arm. With both men back in the ring, the bell rang. Kidd gave Newman a brainbuster right on the concrete floor. Kidd put a thumb into the eye of Newman. The official reprimanded him. Kidd shoved the official to the mat. Kiss the Crown dropped Kidd to the mat. Prince’s Curse gets Newman a two count.
Newman dares Kidd to forearm him as hard as he can. Newman is sent across the ring and through the ropes. He ends up landing on the apron. Callum returns the favour with a kick dropping Kidd. Kidd goes for his running knee but Newman shoves the official in the way. Newman catches a Kidd kick, kicks him in the “lower abdomen” and rolls him up.
Newman isn’t the only one in the G1 Climax to beat champion Kidd though. Drilla Moloney did so as well.
On night ten, Jake Lee and Yuto-Ice tried to outsmart one another.
Lee attacks Ice from behind. Lee pulls out a set of handcuffs from his bag of tricks. Ice hammers him and he drops them. Ice slams Lee’s head into a steel chair. They get back into the ring just to go to the floor again. Lee is whipped into the barricade. Lee retrieves his handcuffs but the official stops him cold. As the official removes those from the ring Lee pulls out another pair and locks on on side. Ice pushes Lee into the official. Ice has issues with the cuffs so he turns to some Young Lions. Ice pleads with the crowd for their patience. He finally attaches the other cuff to Lee. Ice punches and kicks Lee into the canvass.
Lee manages to fight free and totally cuff Ice. He pours a bottle of water on him. Lee lays a heavy beating on Lee in the ropes. Even cuffed, Ice kicks Lee in the crotch and pins him with Cruella.

Konosuke almost pins Goto with his own version of the Goto Revolution. Goto catches him coming in with a clothesline. A head butt and Raging Fire puts Goto away. Takeshita shakes Goto’s hand afterwards and bows to him. Nice that.
