Night eight of the G1 Climax tournament played host to what could be considered a Match of the Year candidate as massive superstar-in-the-making Yuto-Ice came up short against the IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Yota Tsuji in a phenomenal match which showed why these two are definitely the future of the sport.

In the closing moments of the match, Tsuji charged in for his spear. Ice kicks him in the face and lands Cruella. Ice only gets a two count. Tsuji spins Ice with a Gene Blaster. Both men are down and exhausted. The referee begins a count on both men. Tsuji makes it up in time to beat the count. Ice does not.
At the end of the night though it was Konosuke Takeshita who leads A Block by two points over Boltin Oleg, Yota Tsuji and Ryohei Oiwa.

A Block – Boltin Oleg versus Jake Lee
Although both men are massive, Lee get bowled over by Oleg as he rushes off the ropes. Lee escaped to the ropes to avoid Oleg’s Kamikaze. Lee pulls the ropes down on a charging Oleg.
Lee gets thrown into the ringside barricade. Lee lifts Oleg up though dropping his throat-first on the barricade. Lee then stomps Oleg’s arm draped over the security railing. Lee rams Oleg’s arm into a steel post.
Back in the ring, Lee puts Oleg in a wrist lock and drops back hard hyper-extending Oleg’s entire arm. Oleg is in a lot of pain. He rolls into the ropes as the official checks on him.

Lee starts mocking Oleg by clutching his own arm in mock pain. Oleg finally get some offence by heaving Lee across the ring, unleashing an avalanche in a corner, a pendulum slam and a Boltin Bomb splash.
As he is being pinned, Lee grabs Oleg’s arm but Oleg stands up with Lee on his shoulders. Lee escapes into a neck wrench and transitions that into an arm bar. Oleg makes it to the ropes but barely.
Oleg starts absorbing Lee’s kicks. They trade forearms, kicks and clotheslines. Oleg ducks Lee’s Facebreaker Kick. Oleg powerbombs Lee twice. Lee kicks out. A Kamikaze pins Lee.
Winner: Boltin Oleg
A Block – Ryohei Oiwa versus SANADA
Sanada submits to Oiwa’s facelock.
Winner: Ryohei Oiwa
A Block – Konosuke Takeshita versus Great-O-Khan
Khan takes Takeshita down to his knees with his claw. As Khan lifts him up for the Eliminator, Takeshita rolls him up for a two. Khan throws Takeshita into the official. Takeshita blocks Khan’s low-blow from behind. Knee strike and Raging Fire.
Winner: Konosuke Takeshita
A Block – Hirooki Goto versus Shingo Takagi
Shingo nails Goto with Last of the Dragon.
