A fundraiser has been started for recently released former WWE star Ridge Holland.
A GoFundMe campaign has been started after it was revealed yesterday that Ridge Holland had his WWE contract terminated early after his social media outburst on November 4. Holland took to Twitter on Tuesday to criticise WWE for choosing not to renew his contract when it was set to come to an end on November 14. Holland said that he felt “hung out to dry” by the company, and that he felt “totally f**ked” by them.
WWE saw this outburst as a violation of Holland’s contract and made the decision to end it prematurely as a result. They will still be paying his medical expenses for a foot injury he sustained while working a match in TNA on September 27.
The GoFundMe description states that, as Holland is a 1099 contractor in the United States, he is not eligible for workers’ compensation, sick leave or any support from WWE. It also states that Holland and his family are at risk of losing their home if they can’t get enough money soon.
Who Has Donated To Ridge Holland’s GoFundMe?
The fundraiser, which was started two days ago, has currently raised $8,550 of a $60,000 target with 110 donations. Some major names from the world of wrestling have contributed to the campaign, including the likes of Chelsea Green, Omos, Nick Jackson, Kyle Fletcher, and Jinder Mahal.
