Former WWE creative team member Jimmy Jacobs has made a series of scathing allegations about Vince McMahon, describing the former WWE Chairman as a “psychopath,” a “bully,” and an “abuser.”
Jimmy Jacobs, who worked on WWE’s creative team from 2015 to 2017, discussed his experiences working under Vince McMahon on the After The Bell podcast. The former writer said McMahon’s personality made him difficult to work with and alleged he regularly mistreated those around him.
“He was a crazy person. Vince McMahon was like a psychopath. That’s the sort of personality type he is. He’s like an overt malignant narcissist. Not to use catchphrase words because I’m not using that hyperbolically. I’m using that like that’s his personality type.”
Jacobs went on to say that working alongside McMahon changed his perception of the former WWE boss.
“I was around Vince McMahon not very long before I saw, ‘Oh, I wouldn’t trade places with this guy for one second. Not for one second.’ Because for everything he has, he has nothing because he’s a psychopath. And when you’re a psychopath, you’re incapable of love.”
These comments represent Jacobs’ personal characterisation of McMahon rather than any established medical assessment.
Jimmy Jacobs Claims Vince McMahon Bullied WWE Employees
Jimmy Jacobs continued his criticism by alleging that Vince McMahon regularly bullied employees and performers, making the working environment challenging.
“Vince McMahon’s a bully. He’s a maniac. He’s an abuser. Every story you’ve heard about him, it’s something like true. That’s who he is. It’s hard to work for bullies and psychopaths. That’s challenging, and I had a challenging time with that, and other people did too.”
However, Jacobs claimed that certain high-profile wrestlers received more favourable treatment from McMahon.
“The people that I saw Vince treat well: Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, the Undertaker, and Blackjack Lanza.”
Jacobs explained that Lanza occasionally attended WWE events in Minnesota and suggested that McMahon showed particular respect towards individuals associated with his father’s era.
“He (Lanza) would show up to the shows in Minnesota sometimes, and Vince was very respectful of people that were from his dad’s era. But other than that, like other than the names I listed, at different points, he would bury, be down on everybody else.”
The former WWE writer also alleged that McMahon viewed employees primarily in terms of what they could contribute to his business interests.
“There’s a lot of other psychopaths out in the world, but Vince McMahon’s one of them. (He’s a) Billionaire because he has that sort of personality type that he’ll take risks. He’ll step on people. He’ll do what it takes to get what he wants.”
Jacobs concluded by accusing McMahon of using people to achieve his own objectives.
“And that’s really what a psychopath ends up being. Somebody that will take anything in reality and use it to get what they want. Using all people for their industrial worth. It’s like you are a tool for me to get what I want. So you don’t love people; you use people.”
Jacobs’ WWE tenure ended in 2017 after he posted a photograph with members of The Bullet Club during their appearance outside a Raw television taping. The group had staged an appearance parodying D-Generation X’s 1998 invasion of WCW Nitro.
