A former WWE Women’s and Women’s Tag Team Champion has revealed that they have signed a legends deal with the company.
Former WWE Women’s Champion Leilani Kai spoke in an interview with Bill Apter about how she received a phone call from WWE while she was in the hospital recovering from a hip surgery she had in 2024. Kai said that the person on the phone asked if they could pay for her hospital bills, and when Kai said that she already had the bill taken care of, they asked if she would be willing to join the company on a legends deal.
Kai said that she was taken aback by the offer but was very happy and accepted it. Apter asked if it was Triple H who had rang her, but Kai said that it was not him and instead an assistant by the name of Ben Brown.
Kai made her first appearance in over 30 years at Saturday Night’s Main Event back in May. Kai then made her second appearance for the company in 2025 at Evolution on July 13.
When Did Leilani Kai Win The WWE Women’s Champion?
Leilani Kai won the WWE Women’s Championship on February 18, 1985, in a dark match at The War to Settle the Score event in Madison Square Garden in front of a crowd of 22,000 people. Kai defeated Wendi Richter, who won the belt from The Fabulous Moolah, who had held the title for 2,113 days, but her previous title changes were not recognised by the WWE, so Moolah had officially held the title for over 10,000 days.
