A former WWE Tag Team Champion has said they are uncertain that they will ever return to the ring due to injury.
Piper Niven remains sidelined from in-ring action as she continues to recover from a serious neck injury, with no clear timetable yet for her return to WWE. Niven has been out of action for several months and addressed her condition on social media this week while responding to a fan who asked how she was feeling and whether a comeback was imminent. While she said she is currently “in a good spot,” Niven admitted on Twitter that the recovery process has been difficult and unpredictable.
“It’s five months on and some days when it’s bad I can’t stand up for more than a few minutes, if even a minute,” she wrote.
Despite the ongoing challenges, Niven stressed that her desire to return to the ring has not changed and that wrestling remains her long-term goal.
“Do I want to come back? Of course I do. This is all I’ve done and all I’ve wanted to do since I was 16 years old and I can’t imagine doing anything else,” she said. “I still love it as much as I did the first day I started. And I feel like I was really just starting to get confident again and open up and hit my groove. So all this to say, I hope so. Keep your fingers crossed for me.”
What Was Piper Niven Doing In WWE Before Her Injury?
The setback comes at a time when Piper Niven appeared to be finding momentum on television. Her most recent match took place in August on an episode of WWE SmackDown in Dublin, Ireland, where she defeated Charlotte Flair. Although there were no obvious signs of injury during the bout, she was removed from WWE programming shortly afterwards and has not appeared since.
At present, Niven has not indicated when she might be cleared to compete again, leaving her future status with WWE uncertain as she continues her rehabilitation.
