A former WWE Tag Team Champion is set to step away from in-ring action after an injury update surfaced during Monday’s episode of WWE Raw.
Xavier Woods is set to step away from WWE action after dealing with an ongoing shoulder issue. During a commercial break on the February 16 episode of Raw, Kofi Kingston addressed the crowd and revealed that Woods had been battling a shoulder injury for the past three months. According to Kingston, medical staff were now “forcing” Woods to take time off so the shoulder could properly heal.
Grayson Waller then read out a message supposedly from Woods, which included insults directed at the Memphis crowd. Shortly after the segment aired, Woods responded on social media with a brief “BRB” post.
When Did Xavier Woods Last Wrestle In WWE?
Xavier Woods last wrestled in a dark match before the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, teaming with Kingston and Waller in a loss to Shinsuke Nakamura and The Motor City Machine Guns. His most recent televised appearance saw him and Kingston come up short in a four-way number one contender’s match for the World Tag Team Championships, which was won by Alpha Academy.
Since turning heel at the end of 2024, The New Day have remained a regular presence in Raw’s tag team division, even capturing the titles at WrestleMania 41. Following their loss, the group has frequently complained about what they describe as the “death” of the brand’s tag team scene.
