A former WWE star is planning a return to wrestling after their release from WWE and recovery from neck surgery.
Former WWE star Luke Menzies confirmed on the Wakefield Trinity Heritage podcast that he has been cleared to resume physical activity and is now preparing to step back into the ring after several months away.
“I felt like about a month ago I started getting the itch again… my body started feeling good again,” Menzies said. “I’ve got so much to prove here, so I think I will give wrestling another shot.”
Menzies was released by WWE in 2025 and was critical of the circumstances surrounding his departure, claiming he was let go while injured. His focus has since been on recovery following a two-level cervical disc replacement surgery. With his health improving, Menzies outlined plans to rebuild his career on the independent scene before targeting opportunities with larger promotions.
“The next step is going back to the indies… if you generate enough buzz, there are opportunities out there with places like TNA and AEW,” he said.

Menzies added that while his industry connections may help open doors, he understands the importance of proving himself again.
“I’ve made some good relationships… maybe I can call in a favour here and there, but it starts with proving myself.”
Now cleared for training and feeling physically ready, Menzies is turning his attention toward a full comeback, determined to show he still has more to offer in the ring.
