A former WWE star has revisited one of the most iconic moments in WrestleMania history.
ECW legend Dawn Marie shared her thoughts while speaking with SoCalVal for WrestlingNews.co at WrestleCon during WrestleMania 42 weekend, reflecting on her favourite moment from the annual show. When asked to name her standout WrestleMania memory, Dawn Marie pointed to the legendary clash between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship.
“I’m old school. Nothing better than Hogan and Andre. How do you top it? You can’t. But other than that, they’re all fun,” she said.
The moment, which saw Hogan slam Andre in 1987 at the Pontiac Silverdome to retain the WWF Championship, is widely regarded as one of the defining scenes in wrestling history and was recently recognised as the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026 Immortal Moment.
Former WWE Star Dawn Marie Also Offered Her Advice To Aspiring Wrestlers
Dawn Marie also offered advice to those working in the industry, stressing the importance of enjoying the profession and that if they ever find that they no longer enjoy wrestling, they should stop.
“If you don’t have fun, go home. When it stops being fun, that’s when it’s time to quit,” she said.
She added that while challenges are inevitable in wrestling, they should never outweigh the enjoyment of performing, noting that passion remains key to longevity in the business.
“There’s always gonna be your challenges, and it’s gonna be like you’re gonna get angry and you’re gonna get mad and you’re gonna feel disappointed, but they should always be fun. And when it’s not, it’s just time to say goodbye.”
