A former WWE star has revealed that they would welcome another opportunity in the company, saying they are staying ready in case the company ever calls them back.
Former WWE star Heath Slater discussed the possibility of a return during an appearance on David Otunga’s show, explaining that he continues to train so he is prepared if the opportunity arises. Slater said he would be particularly interested in making a surprise appearance in the Royal Rumble.
“So my mind is, I want to stay ready. I want to be in the gym. I want to stay in shape. So if anything happens to where they’re like, you know what, we need some nostalgia in the Rumble. I’m be like, hell yeah, I do, man. Hit my music.”
Slater also made it clear that WWE already knows how to contact him if it wants to bring him back.
“They got my damn number, my email. All they have to do is call me and hit my damn music because I’m ready for it. I’ll go and do it.”
Heath Slater Believes He Hasn’t Got Long Left To Make A WWE Return Due To His Age
The 42-year-old acknowledged that he does not expect to wrestle for many more years, estimating that he has only a handful of good years left before retirement becomes a realistic consideration.
“Dude, I’m 42 right now, I have literally a handful of good years,” he said. “After 46, 47, I don’t know, man.”
Slater added that he would know it is time to step away when he reaches the point where a younger opponent leaves him “huffing and puffing” in the ring, joking that it would then be time to “dock my ship.”
The former WWE star also spoke about the possibility of reviving 3MB alongside Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal. Slater said he would gladly reunite with his former stablemates and joked that he would win a championship if WWE asked him to, even if it meant dropping the title the following night, because he is “a team player.”
Slater was released by WWE as part of the company’s roster cuts in 2020. Since then, he has competed in TNA Wrestling and currently works as a free agent, while remaining open to another run with WWE should the opportunity arise.
