A former WWE star and ECW legend has said he would be open to working with AEW, but only under the right circumstances.
Shane Douglas has addressed the possibility of working with AEW, making it clear he would be open to a run under the right circumstances. Speaking on his YouTube channel, the former ECW and WWE star said he has no issue working with people he may not personally get along with, as long as the goal is to build something successful.
“I’ve worked with a lot of people I didn’t like… it’s not really about liking everyone in the office,” Douglas said. “I think I still have a lot to offer the business.”
Shane Douglas Says His WWE & ECW Experience Would Make Him Valuable In AEW
Shane Douglas pointed to his experience across multiple eras of wrestling as something he believes remains valuable, adding that he can adapt to almost any environment. However, he also offered criticism of AEW’s current direction, suggesting the company may need to rethink its approach.
“If AEW keeps doing the same thing year after year and expects things to suddenly change, why would they?” he said.
Douglas added that AEW must decide whether it wants to become a major player or remain an alternative within the industry.
“To answer the question, yes, I could work with AEW… as long as they truly want what I have to offer,” he said.
Douglas’ comments come amid ongoing debate around AEW’s long-term direction, with no indication of any formal discussions between the two sides.
